Initial Ideas and Drafts

 

Planning-

The sports channel I am creating these advertisements for is called ‘Sportsworld’ a tv channel that is shows coverage of many different sports, including football, golf, and BMX.

 

Initial ideas-

A poster showing a man with a golf club over his shoulder, as well as an image of the bag of clubs, hopefully can be taken at a driving range or golf course, with the title of the channel located at the top of the poster. With additional information at the bottom of the poster.

A poster showing a man on his bike, wearing a helmet on a cycle lane or path. Blue and red background behind him, with the title of the channel at the top of the poster. Additional information at the bottom of the poster.

An image of a Rugby ball on a rugby pitch, with the goalposts in the background. This poster will also contain the blue and red background colours. With the title at the top and additional information at the bottom.

An image of a football on a football pitch, the ball resting in the corner, as if there is a corner ball about to be played in a game. Keep the blue and red background colours, with the text in the same areas.

An image of a tennis player that has just hit/is about to hit a tennis ball, using the same red and white background colours to fit the other poster designs.

  The History of Sports channels. The first sports channel was first broadcasted in 1979, and first aired almost two years earlier in 1977, from the SportsChannel Networks. A Columbia-Princeton baseball game at Baker Field was the first sporting event ever broadcasted on TV in 1939 by the National Broadcasting company. The United Kingdom’s first TV channel to cover sports was Screensport which launched on the 29 th of March 1980. The first sport to be aired on this channel was greyhound racing on the 31 st of August 1980. Sky Sports, a popular sports channel was founded on the 25 th of March 1990, and remains one of the most popular sports channels in the UK. On 19 October 1946, the first live televised football match was broadcast by the BBC from Barnet's home ground Underhill.
