Analyzing Sport Channel Posters-

Understanding sports channels posters is important for designing and creating your own posters. Many already existing posters fit a specific style or appeal to a specific audience, the channels target audience. The posters use images the target audience is familiar with, as each poster uses the same if not similar images on each.

Poster 1-

This poster is advertising the Formula 1 (F1) Final between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. This poster contains images of both F1 drivers, who at the time were tied before the final. They are positioned to the left-hand side of the poster, the text being on the right side. Both of their first names are depicted with the largest text font, as fans of F1 would recognise each racer by their first name and picture. The Sky Sports logo is present, and a tagline is also present at the bottom of the poster, reinforcing that you can only see it live once. This would appeal to fans of F1 as they recognise the images on the poster, showcasing the racers as well as a city skyline at night. The colours comprising of shades of yellow, blue, red and white, this links back to F1 as each colour is present on the flags during races. The lighting on the racers is high key compared to the background which makes them stand out against the night-time skyline.

Poster 2-

This poster is advertising Formula One (F1) being shown on Sky Sports. The main image of this poster depicts three racers, Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, and Daniel Ricciardo, as well as each of the racer’s cars, the lighting on the racers and cars is high key when compared to the low key, dark blue background. The Sky Sports logo contains the largest text on the poster, as Sky Sports was the channel showcasing this event. Behind each racer the year 2021 is written in a large font, this means that this event took place in that year. The colours used are shades of blues, which links to its style, and target audience. This poster would appeal to its target audience of males between 16–35-year-old, as the cars are presented as well as the racers. In the bottom right of the poster there is a Twitter icon and the name of the account, this infers that they are active on Twitter and have a Twitter account for fans to follow. A smaller ‘Sport on the Box’ logo is in the top left corner of the poster, which is the Sky Sports channel Formula One is shown on.

 Poster 3-

The lighting on each footballer is high key, although some of their body is covered with shadow. The only text present on this poster is the Sky Sports logo, at the bottom. The premier league logo is also shown next to the Sky Sports logo, inferring that they are both are partners. This poster would appeal to its target audience of males aged between 14 and 30 years old, by showing premier league footballers and advertising the event, so fans of sports channels can be aware of the premier league on the Sky Sports Channel.
